Not dead.

I suppose a considerate or more dedicated blogger might have checked in before now. Hey I'm having a big fuck off major surgery, and then...radio silence. I mean obviously those who know me and care about me have been kept in the loop as to my goings on but if you just tripped and fell into this blog 6 months ago, well, I'm not dead.

Quite the opposite in fact. The surgery, considering all that was involved (which in my mind means bone saw, rib spreaders and another person (a near STRANGER, really) HOLDING MY ACTUAL HEART and CUTTING BITS OF IT OFF) was really pretty painless. Not PAINLESS, but seriously, not as bad as I anticipated. Perhaps I just enjoyed the oxycodone and the sanctioned couch loafing.

It's been 5 months. I exercise, I've been working when there's work to do, aside from my frankenstein-esque scar and my ongoing aversion to scaling more than one flight of stairs at a  time, and the bi-weekly INR check, its like it never happened. Oh and the ticking. I tick now. How sexy is that?

That's all I really have to say on the matter. It's not a particularly interesting topic, if you have a similar surgery coming up and have questions, fire away. I can answer in my completely not medically qualified opinion...but I'm not gonna talk about this a lot.

Moving on.

Next fall I want to do a month in Europe again.  Working to achieve that goal starts now.

Oh, and my list of 100 things....yeah I could have at least done a ton of reading during my convalescence but instead I became obsessed by "Never Mind the Buzzcocks" episodes on YouTube. Anyway, at this point this year feels like a wash, a big shitty wash and I'm gonna finish writing that list and work on it for next year.

So that's what's up with me.
